QA Engineer

Role Summary

We are seeking a QA Engineer to validate web applications, APIs, databases, and system integrations throughout the software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and execute functional, regression, integration, system, and release test cases.

• Test web applications, APIs, databases, and back-end services.

• Validate data using SQL queries and investigate application defects.

• Document defects, track resolution, and coordinate retesting with developers.

• Support automated testing and quality gates within CI/CD and deployment cycles.

Required Skills

• Experience in functional, regression, integration, and web application testing.

• API testing and SQL/database validation experience.

• Understanding of HTML, CSS/SCSS, C#, APIs, and application architecture.

• Familiarity with automation tools, CI/CD, NoSQL, logging, monitoring, and defect management.

Technical Screening Questions

1. How would you create a test strategy for a web application that includes UI, API, database, integration, and regression testing?

2. Describe how you test a REST API, including authentication, request validation, response validation, negative scenarios, and error handling.

3. How do you use SQL to validate that data displayed in an application matches the underlying database and transformation rules?

4. Which tests should be automated and included in a CI/CD pipeline, and which tests are better suited for manual execution?

5. A defect cannot be reproduced consistently. What information, logs, test data, and diagnostic steps would you use to investigate it?
